Nancy E. PatchellWestborough – Nancy E. Patchell (Conlin), 66, of Westborough, formerly of Northborough, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her four daughters on Monday, October 3, 2022 after a long battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease. She was the wife of the late Alan Patchell.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Hon. Francis Conlin and Eleanor (Cunningham) Conlin. She was raised in Paxton, and later attended Notre Dame Academy High School in Worcester, where she found her love for music and theater, particularly playing piano as the accompanist to the glee club. After high school, Nancy continued her education at Memorial Hospital School of Nursing where she received her Nursing degree. As a registered nurse, Nancy cared for so many during her years at Jewish Healthcare Center and then at Marlborough Hospital.

Nancy found joy and peace in breathing in the salt air of Cape Cod. A fresh lobster roll, a cup of hot chowder, and a dip in the ocean was her idea of a perfect beach day. She loved flowers, especially yellow tulips that she proudly displayed throughout the house. Her kindness extended to animals, especially her dog, Charlie. Nancy’s gift for cooking brought the family together for many special meals, especially pancake Sundays.

Nancy had a special way about her. She greeted each day with optimism, even through her most difficult days. A devoted Catholic, she leaned on her faith to carry her through times of suffering. Family was everything to her, and nothing made her more proud than the accomplishments of her daughters and grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by four daughters, Nancy M. Powell and her husband, Richard, of Worcester, Maryellen C. Smith and her husband, Gregory, of Northborough, Kristen A. Turpin and her significant other, Kelly O’Brien of Westborough and Caitlin A. Turpin and her significant other, Jonathan Berry, of Mansfield; one brother, Francis Conlin of Florida; five grandchildren, Ryan Powell, Brendan Smith, Julia Smith, Drew Powell and Trevor Powell and her beloved dog Charlie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, October 11th from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Polycystic Kidney Foundation (www.pkdcure.org).
