Eleanor M. AveryMarlborough – Eleanor “Ellie” May (Beauregard) Avery, 85, of Marlborough, died on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, peacefully after a long illness.

Ellie was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Lionel I. and Leona M. (Burnham) Beauregard. She graduated from Hudson High School, Class of ’55, and worked for 35 years at Raytheon, Sudbury, retiring in 2010.

Ellie loved attending family events where she always brought her deliciously famous chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed her girl trips to Wells, Maine and spending time playing Yahtzee with family and her best friend Dottie. Ellie also enjoyed making beautifully knitted blankets for all the new babies, whether it was a family member or friend. She was a traveler and loved to get in her car and drive to many wonderful destinations.

Ellie is survived by her 2 sons, Michael Avery of Marlboro, MA, David Avery and his wife Catherine of W. Boylston, MA and her daughter, Patricia Avery of Mason, TX.  She was predeceased by 2 sons, William Avery in 2006 and Russell Avery in 2015.  Ellie is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Ellie is also survived by her 2 sisters, Barbara Damico of Berlin, MA, and Carol Pryor of Mason, TX. She was pre-deceased by her brother Kenneth Beauregard of CA.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 9 to 11 am in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, with a Graveside Service to follow at Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
