MARLBOROUGH – The school bus strike will enter a second day, with no sign of negotiations resuming.
According to Jim Marks of Teamsters Local 170, which is representing drivers with Marlborough Public Schools, “[On] Sunday the company said they were done with negotiations, and the company has still not reached out.”
That means Marlborough Public Schools will be entering a second day of a contingency plan with a lot more walkers and traffic.
“Thank you to all of you that helped get our children to school this morning,” wrote Mary Murphy, MPS superintendent, on Facebook on Monday afternoon. “I am sorry to report that we have been notified the strike will continue.
“Please follow the plans provided to you by your child’s school for arrival and dismissal procedures. We will be working to improve traffic around all schools.
