Southborough – This year, 1, 373 runners and walkers participated in the New England Center for Children's (NECC) seventh annual 5K Walk/Run for Autism held May 11, beginning and ending at Neary Elementary School. Matthew Germain of Reading placed first overall for the fourth consecutive year, this year in 16:19. Keira Moore of Westborough was the first-place female in 22:26. Approximately $168,000 was raised with additional donations continuing after the event. NECC is dedicated to transforming the lives of children with autism through education, research and technology.
