Marlborough – If you are looking for a fun night out and want to relive some of those special times from the “80s, then you should consider attending the “The Best Prom You Never Had.” The event, sponsored by the Marlborough Junior Woman's Club (MJWC), will be held Saturday, Feb. 8 at Speakers Night Club, 19 Weed St. (behind City Hall).
The event is being held to raise funds to support the club's annual Princess Boutique for teens, which assists the young women with outfits for proms, semi-formals, and other formal events. ?The teens are given dresses, jewelry, shoes, makeup and custom fitting – all free of charge. Students also have the help of a personal shopper, make-up artists and seamstresses to help create a perfect outfit for their special event.
The dress code for the “Best Prom You Never Had” can be dressy evening or casual attire, Theresa Frias, the MJWC president said.
“You can dress up and relive your youth or just come down and support the community,” she said. “Many will be decked out in vintage dresses or newer styles, some from eBay and others from the recesses of our closets,” she said. In extending the invitation to all residents in the area to come for food, music, dancing and lots of fun, she noted, “You may even be voted Prom King or Queen!”
Tickets are $25 and may be purchased? by contacting by contacting Frias at [email protected].
