Marlborough- The city council unanimously approved during its Nov. 3 meeting a site plan to expand parking at Marlborough Hills, a development located at 200 Forest Street. Developers Atlantic Management was seeking approval for the increase which would provide additional parking for 110 vehicles for employees of GE Healthcare Life Sciences and Quest Diagnostics.
The Marlborough Hills complex, formerly owned by RCA, Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq and Hewlett Packard, is on 109 acres off of I-495. The development is expected to include apartments, a hotel, retail stores, restaurants and service establishments, all allowable under the Results Way Mixed Use Overlay District approved by the city council in 2012.
Terms of the special permit include a preconstruction meeting held on-site with the building commissioner, city engineer, conservation officer and site contractor responsible for performing the work. At this meeting the departments will review the plans, conditions, exchange contact information including emergency contact numbers and impact erosion controls for the area which was originally at a lower elevation.
In recommending approval of the site plan application, City Councilor Joseph Delano, chair of the Urban Affairs Committee, confirmed that Marlborough Hills developers met all requirements and agreements and councilors could move the project forward without concern. Once it is completed an annual maintenance report to the city engineer and the conservation officer is required to include the entire 200 Forest Street site.
