Marlborough – State Representative Danielle Gregoire, D-Marlborough, officially announced her plans to run for re-election in the 4th Middlesex District at a campaign kickoff held April 12 at the Fish Restaurant in Marlborough. Among the many state officials attending were Speaker of the House Robert A. DeLeo and Boston Mayor Martin Walsh.
“You will never find a better state representative than Danielle Gregoire,” DeLeo said. “There is no one who has worked harder for the residents of this district and will continue to do so.”
In listing her accomplishments of the past two years, Gregoire said, “we have made record investments in local and education funding and Chapter 90 road repair money for our cities and towns. We have passed numerous bills for this district, working with municipal governments to ease restriction on the way they do business.”
On the current opioid crisis she emphasized the “groundbreaking legislation” passed to combat the problem in addition to adding more funding for expanded treatment services.
Gregoire is vice chair of the Joint Committee on Education, serves on the Joint Committee on Financial Services, the Labor and Workforce Development Committee, and the Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities Committee. Hosting the event were her parents, Robert and Joan Gregoire, and Jean Peters, campaign treasurer.
The 4th Middlesex District includes 10 precincts in Marlborough, two precincts in Northborough and two in Westborough.
