obit-ron-ledouxNorthborough – Ronald M. Ledoux passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was 73.

He leaves his devoted wife of 50 years, Kathleen E. (Healy) Ledoux; his loving children, Michelle Wardell and her husband Whit of  Canal Winchester, Ohio, Matthew Ledoux and his wife Stacey of Greenville, N.C., Edward “EJ” Ledoux and Lynsey Gilbert  of Natick, and Peter Feeney and his wife Cheryl of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren, Mallory and Mason Wardell and Alice and Jack Ledoux; three brothers, Richard Ledoux of New Jersey, Philip Ledoux of Minnesota, and Robert Ledoux of Harvard; his sister, Denise Shailer of Shrewsbury; and many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Worcester, he was son of the late Aime and Georgette (Leroux) Ledoux. He graduated from Holy Name Central Catholic High School in 1960. In 1963 he graduated from New England School of Accounting. He served in Marine Corps Reserves and resided in Northborough for the past 43 years.

Ron continued his studies by graduating from Boston University in 1968 with a B.A. in Government and M.A. in Social Planning from Boston College in 1971. He spent his professional career working for the Department of Health and Human Services, Head Start Program in Boston as a Children’s Family Program Specialist for 31 years, retiring in 2006.

He loved sailing, running, snorkeling, diving and traveling. He enjoyed vacationing at St. John’s in the  U.S. Virgin Islands and loved running their “8 Tuff Miles,”  winning his division multiple times.

Ron lived for his family.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, Jan, 5, from 4-7 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. His funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m., in his parish, St. Rose of Lima, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery.
