City awarded $1.6 million grant for Simarano Drive

Marlborough - At the request of Mayor Arthur Vigeant the City Council has accepted a $1.6 million grant from the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development (EOHED) that will provide funds for renovations and improvements on Simarano Drive. The monies will be used to reconstruct roads, improve and add sidewalks, install traffic signals and establish a bicycle path for a "Complete Streets" project.

Golf tournament supports Boys and Girls Clubs of MetroWest

Marlborough - Over 100 golfers piled into golf carts to spend a day on the course for the 22nd annual R.F. Wood Kids Classic Tournament held at the Marlborough Country Club July 14. The tournament, in honor of Bob "R.F." Wood, supports the Boys and Girls Clubs of MetroWest in Marlborough, Hudson and Framingham. This year's tournament drew 138 participants and included raffles, a silent auction, lunch and dinner in addition to the golf competition.

Marlborough City Council to review LED sign proposal

Marlborough - The Urban Affairs Committee of the City Council will review an LED (light emitting diode) signs and message board proposal, submitted by a special committee appointed by Mayor Arthur Vigeant. Mayor proposes agreement with Hudson to assist city's Board of Health

Marlborough – Marlborough Mayor Arthur Vigeant has asked Hudson officials to assist the city's Board of Health while the sanitarian/health director is on a medical leave. In a communication to the City Council, addressed at the July 7 meeting, Vigeant said his office has assumed administrative oversight of the office during the past month and worked with board personnel to ensure day-to-day operations have run but due to the workload of inspectional duties, plan reviews and permit requests during the summer months, he sees a need for an experienced manager in the public health field to assist on a temporary basis.
