Northborough citizens want bylaw changes for use variances, solar farms

Northborough - When Wegmans opened its 130,000-square-foot store in Northborough in 2011, it brought more visitors to the region than any other place in Massachusetts, according to the Metrowest Visitors Bureau. The store was able to open thanks to a variance in the town's zoning. If a proposed amendment to the town's zoning bylaw passes at a special Town Meeting Monday, Oct. 28, such variances will be a thing of the past.

Northborough slightly increases plow fee

Northborough ??" Residents who want their private ways plowed, sanded, and salted by the town this winter can expect to pay a little bit more. Selectmen on Oct. 7 voted unanimously to increase fees $5 for plowing and $5 for sanding and salting.

Local filmmaker produces first feature film

Northborough - For Northborough native Brian Chick, filmmaking is an art. Chick, who graduated from Ithaca College in May with a B.S. in cinema and photography, is pursuing his interest in cinema production through the creation of his first feature film. The producer and director of Chick Flick Pictures, Chick first developed his passion for film while attending a two-week intensive filmmaking program at Algonquin Regional High School.
