On heels of honors, ARHS thespians to present new play this week

Northborough/Southborough - At a red carpet event held May 18 Algonquin Regional High School (ARHS) English teacher Tom Alera and the cast and crew of the school's December production, "Damn Yankees" received six High School Musical Theatre Awards (TAMY). The coveted awards were judged and granted by Mount Wachusett Community College's Theater at the Mount in Gardner. Damn Yankees" walked away with Best Playbill, Best Production Number ("Shoeless Joe"), Best Ensemble, Best Actress (Brittany Price), Best Choreographer and Best Director (Tom Alera).

Shrewsbury – As she prepares once again to participate in the 2013 Miss Massachusetts Pageant at Worcester's Hanover Theatre June 28-29, Caitie Coates knows from past experience the competition will be a challenge. But for this young Shrewsbury woman, working hard is nothing new. It has something she has done her whole life, overcoming the adversity of learning disabilities, including dyslexia and short- and long- term memory retrieval, to achieve her goals.
