SELCO, American Movie Classics sponsor Oct. 26 blood drive

Shrewsbury – An American Red Cross Halloween blood drive will be held in Shrewsbury Friday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Glavin Regional Center, 214 Lake St.? This drive is being sponsored by SELCO and American Movie Classics, and is open to the public. Residents from all surrounding towns are invited to participate.

The blood drive will include special giveaways and raffle prizes, as well as Halloween treats for all donors.

If you are in good health, weigh 110 pounds or more, and have not given blood in the past 56 days you may try to donate.? The American Red Cross now requires a positive ID before donating.? You must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with signed parental consent form).

Appointments are preferred, but walk-in donors are also welcome.? The Red Cross is hoping to collect at least 40 life-savings pints of blood at this drive.

Please call 1-800-REDCROSS or visit www.redcrossblood.org to schedule an appointment to donate.? Help the Red Cross maintain a safe and available blood supply for the community.
