The father of three was also a committed public servant, volunteering hundreds of hours on the renovation, expansion and building of the town's schools.

To honor Howard's legacy, Westborough High School (WHS) seniors are invited to apply for two $1,000 scholarships to be given in his name.

The student's name, telephone number, e-mail address and home address should be included on a cover sheet, paper-clipped to the front of the essay. The student's name should not be put on the essay pages since the essays will be evaluated anonymously.
