Marlborough – Extending a helping hand to people in need is the mission of the Touchstone Furniture Depot of Marlborough.? The store, located at 66 Mechanic Street, provides household items, free of charge, to qualified people who are rebuilding their lives.

Relying on donations from the community, ?Sue Waudby, volunteer manager for the program, is asking for contributions – sheets, blankets, towels, gently used furniture and house wares, sofas/love seats, dressers, kitchen tables and chairs.? Anyone wishing to donate any of these items is asked to bring them to the Depot on days they are open – Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Individuals and families served at the Depot are those in transition who need help to rebuild their lives.? They include victims of fires or floods, women and children escaping abusive domestic situations, people leaving shelters or halfway houses, and war veterans.
