Algonquin students receive Garden Club scholarships

Northborough – The Northborough Garden Club announced that scholarships have been awarded to the recent graduates of Algonquin Regional High School. In June, the club held its annual potluck dinner at Tower Hill Botanical Gardens where the awardees and their families were recognized.?Each student will receive $1,000 upon successful completion of their first semester.

Anvita Hanchate, daughter of Amresh and Varsha Hanchate, will be attending Boston University to major in environmental science; Samuel Hersh, son of Jon and Deborah Hersh, will be attending Bates College in Maine majoring in biochemistry; and?Patrick McAuliffe, son of Richard and Cathleen McAuliffe, will be attending UMASS Amherst majoring in turf management.

Applicants must meet the criteria and fit the mission of the Northborough Garden Club to be selected for scholarship.?Future interested applicants may check with the Guidance Department at Algonquin Regional High School in January-February 2015 for next year's application forms.
