Northborough's Memorial Day parade to have different route this year

Northborough – The town's 2012 Memorial Day parade and ceremony Monday, May 28, will be routed a bit different this year than prior ones due to the ongoing major construction in the downtown area.

The parade, which is sponsored by the Vincent F. Picard Post 234, American Legion, will start in the Trinity Church parking lot, 23 Main St. Parade participants will assemble there between 11:15-11:30 a.m.

The parade will muster on Hudson Street and march to the World War II – Korean War – Vietnam War monument for the first ceremony at 12:00 noon. The parade will then proceed on Pierce Street and Church Street for the second ceremony at the First World War memorial. The third and final ceremony will be in the Howard Street Cemetery at the veterans” memorial/flag pole.

Following that ceremony, all attendees will be dismissed.
