Fruitlands Museum names Wyona Lynch-McWhite new Executive DirectorHarvard – Fruitlands Museum has announced that Wyona Lynch-McWhite will be their new Executive Director starting July 2.

“We are excited to announce that Wyona Lynch-McWhite will be the new Fruitlands Museum Executive Director,” said Marie LeBlanc, President of the Fruitlands Museum Board of Trustees. “Wyona has an extensive background in museum leadership nationally, and will be able to bring that wealth of experience and fresh perspective to Fruitlands.”

Lynch-McWhite was most recently Executive Director of the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton. She was previously the Director and Chief Curator of The Eleanor D. Wilson Museum at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia.

Other institutions she has worked with have included The Columbus Museum in Columbus, Georgia, The IUPUI Cultural Arts Gallery and The Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis, The Art Institute of Chicago, and The Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago.

“I am excited to be joining the Fruitlands community as the museum approaches its 100th year of sharing the art, nature, and heritage of the region with its visitors,” said Lynch-McWhite. “Fruitlands has a rich history, and has continued to provide innovative exhibits and programs to educate and inspire museum members and new visitors alike. I look forward to working with the current team at Fruitlands, the Board of Directors, museum members, and community at large to enhance the offerings we have in place, and articulate a vision for the future.”

Lynch-McWhite has a MFA from Columbia College in Chicago, and a BS from Florida A&M University. She has completed MBA coursework at Wake Forest University and is a graduate of the Getty Center's Museum Leadership Institute. In addition, she is presently a board member of the American Association of Museums” Museum Management Committee, as well as the New England Museum Directors” Roundtable.
