Shrewsbury – On Wednesday, Oct.? 3, the Friends of the Library will be presenting a special program entitled “Meet John Adams: A Lively and Revolutionary Conversation with America's Second President.”? The Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library will host re-enactor George W. Baker for this performance, which has received rave reviews? for Baker's authentic costuming, wit, humor, and ability to engage the audience in a 21st century evening through an 18th century lens and the opinions of a Founder. George Baker has performed in over 200 schools, libraries, theaters, and convention venues, and was featured (as John Adams) on NPR's weekend program, Studio 360.

The venue for this exciting program is the Southgate Theater at 30 Julio Dr., Shrewsbury.

The evening begins with a very brief business meeting of the Friends at 6:30 p.m., with the Adams program commencing at 7 p.m. This program is free but seating is limited. Tickets can be obtained, while they last, at the Shrewsbury Public Library, 609 Main St.

Through their generous funding, the Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library has long been responsible for bringing Shrewsbury residents a wide range of cultural events and activities. Their support helps to make the Shrewsbury Public Library a place for learning, enrichment and community gathering.
