Hudson – Lisette M. (Savoie) Barberio, 53, of Hudson, passed away at her residence Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 with her loving family and friends by her side.
Lisette was born Jan. 9, 1961, daughter of Edmay (Allain) Savoie and the late Aldeo Savoie of New Brunswick, Canada.
She leaves behind her husband, Michael Barberio of Hudson; her cherished son, Lucas Villeneuve of Newton; her three sisters, Rosemont Goguen, Huberte Devarenne, and Giselle Bernard, all from New Brunswick; and her two brothers, Aldorie Savoie of Burlington and Elie Savoie of Wareham. She is also survived by her two step-children, Amanda Barberio of Hudson and Mikey Barberio of Oxford; her two loving grandchildren, Zachery and Dylan Barberio of Oxford; and many nieces and nephews.
Liz was a 1979 graduate of Newton North High school. She later received her degree at the Art Institute of Boston.
She was a caring loving elementary school teacher in Watertown for many years and later taught at the Farley Elementary School in Hudson for the last three years. Throughout her whole career, she excelled with her huge heart and loving warm compassion for all the kids she taught.
Liz loved spending time with all her close friends, and also loved spending her summers in Bouctouche, Canada, where she would relax and enjoy the company of her dear mother and her three caring sisters. She enjoyed spending relaxing time at the beaches in New Hampshire with her husband, and many walks through Gates Pond.
Liz was the ultimate bargain hunter and could turn anything into a beautiful decorative item. She was the ultimate interior decorator.
She will be truly missed by all her loving family and her many, many truly special caring, kind, dear friends and colleagues.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may attend calling hours Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 5- 8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lisette may be made to Farley Home & School, 119 Cottage St., Hudson, MA 01749, for the purchase and installation of the “BuddY Bench.”
