Marlborough – The Marlborough Historical Society will present a history of the well-known city landmark “The Rock,” Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. at the Marlborough Senior Center, 250 Main St. Bruce Caissie will share the history of “The Rock,” which sits on a hill on the Marlborough and Hudson city/town line. Around 1965, teenagers and young adults began to express their feelings by painting on this rock. School pride, good wishes and prom date requests along with memorial and rest-in-peace messages, are some examples of the art left by community members. The Facebook page, “The Rock,” is the only known history of this unique historical landmark. The event is free and open to the public.
