Marlborough – The Marlborough High School (MHS) class of 2015 gathered for pizza in the cafeteria Oct. 14 and learned which classmates garnered most votes for superlatives ranging from Best Laugh to Most Likely to Succeed. MHS announces superlatives in the fall so that photos can meet the yearbook deadline. It’s also an opportunity to begin a lively school year, according to the students selected with Most Class Spirit: Luddy Cassiano and Jony Maciel.
“Doing this in the fall sets a tone for the rest of the year,” Maciel noted.
Also, seniors already know who’ll get their votes because many began as classmates years ago. Taylor Allen and Ali Zouharis, the female Class Inseparables, bonded in seventh grade.
“We complement each other well,” Allen said of their longtime friendship.
Another close-knit pair were named Most Musical: Connor Bailey, trumpeter, and Sarah Hanahan, saxophonist, who’ve jammed together in bands since fourth grade and now carpool to school. They feel that Marlborough Public Schools deserves a superlative for its music program.
“It’s a great program and we’re very lucky to be part of it,” said Hanahan, who plans to
study at a music conservatory after graduation. “I’ll miss it when we leave.”
Chosen as Most Popular were Joseph Cappadonna and Nikki Carter, who share advice on classmate comradery.
“Try to talk with as many people as you can and have a good time,” Cappadonna said.
Shawna Stea, the senior class advisor, has taught many of these students since their freshman year.
“They’re the best senior class,” she proclaimed. “They’ve got a lot of heart and spirit. They’ll go far.”
