Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury High School Colonials football team defeated the Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks 26-7 in a Central Mass. Division 2 quarterfinal playoff game played Oct. 31.
The Tomahawks turned the ball over three times in their first four possessions, allowing the Colonials to jump out to a 19-0 lead by early in the second quarter. Sophomore A. J. Laramee scored all three of the Colonial’s early touchdowns. Thomas Polutchko scored the lone touchdown for the Tomahawks late in the fourth quarter.
The number four seed Colonials advance in the playoffs and will play number one seed Leominster next week.
