Obit Walter J. PodsiadloHudson – Walter J. Podsiadlo, 100, died in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the Wingate of Sudbury Healthcare facility.

Walter was born Dec. 6, 1914 in Grafton. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from April 1943 to October 1945. He served his country in Italy as a Heavy Mortar Crewman, and received the European, African, Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon.

He spent most of his life residing in Rialto, Calif., working as a mechanic and moved back to Massachusetts in 2007.

Walter is survived by his daughter, Florence, and son-in-law John M. Parent of Hudson, as well as sisters Stacia Cadrin and Celia Lucek, both of Grafton. He is also survived by granddaughters Karen Hollis and Susan DiTavi and great-grandsons James and John Hollis and Joseph and Michael DiTavi. He was predeceased by three sisters, Victoria Cadrin, Helen Klocek, and Genevieve “Punch” Graham, and two brothers, Henry and Frank Podsiadlo.

Walter was an avid member of the Hudson Senior Center and enjoyed his daily visits for many years.
