Obit Gertrude MooreShrewsbury – Gertrude B. (Desilets) Moore, 92, of Shrewsbury, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015 in her daughter’s home in Peterborough, N.H. after a brief illness. Her best friend and husband of 27 years, George O. “Bud” Moore, died in 1972.

She then held various office, payroll, bookkeeping, and personnel jobs for several companies throughout the Worcester County area until her retirement in 1982. As an accomplished seamstress, she had made many memorable items for her family, friends and clients

With her “If I put my mind to it, I can do it” attitude, she mastered every hobby and interest she enjoyed – dancing, stained- glass work, crocheting, embroidery. She took many memorable trips throughout the U.S. and abroad, but her favorite vacation time was spent with her family at her summer home on Sebago Lake in Maine. She was a faithful member of Saint Mary’s Parish in Shrewsbury.

She leaves behind a daughter, Gail L. Reno and her husband Roy of Peterborough, N.H.; three grandchildren, Courtney Warren and her husband Daniel of Brookline, N.H., Jesse Reno of NYC, and Benjamin Moore of Waltham; three great-grandchildren, Wesley and Dexter Warren and Caleb Reno; four sisters, Theresa Auger of Westborough, Yvette Plante of Worcester, Lorraine Charest of Charlton, and Claire Fontaine of Riverside, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Victoria Boville of Maine; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by three sons, Wayne C. Moore, Alan W. Moore, and her first-born who died in infancy, George O. “Little Buddy” Moore; a brother, Lt. Wilfrid Desilets Jr.; and two sisters, Jeanne Spear and Lillian Dupuis.
