Marlborough – Although there is not yet any snow in the region, the inside of the Best Western Royal Plaza Trade Center was transformed into a winter wonderland Dec. 11-13 as the Marlborough Historical Society held its eighth annual MetroWest Festival of Trees.
Guests enjoyed viewing over 125 decorated trees and wreaths as well as perusing crafts and other wares for sale. Each tree and wreath was judged in different categories and then raffled off. Winning “Best Overall” was Sherri and David Rabin, of Renewal by Anderson. Their company also sponsored the aisle of wreaths.
The Rabins’s beautiful tree’s theme was “breast cancer awareness” in honor of their many friends who had battled the disease, Sherri said. Adorned in pink, it featured delicate ornaments that had been hand painted by one of the company’s employees, Joanne Stark Smith.
Volunteering that day were members of the Reserve Officer Training Corps from Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School in Marlborough who assisted festival attendees with parking.
