Worcester – The St. John’s High School basketball team will move on to the Division 1 state championship game after defeating Putnam Academy by a score of 65-48 in a game played March 15 Tuesday at the DCU Center.
Backed by a very enthusiastic fan base dressed in red, the Pioneers controlled play and held a comfortable lead throughout the game.
Nicholas Lukasevicz and Alex Bradley led the scoring for St. John’s with 15 points each.
St. John’s will go on to play Cambridge Rindge and Latin School for a chance to compete for the state title on March 19.
