Obit Russell B PrattFramingham – Russell Burgess Pratt, 101, of Framingham, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Saturday, March 19, 2016 in Kathleen Daniel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an illness.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Carlyle and Evalina (Burgess) Pratt. He graduated from the Major Howard Beal High School in 1932.

Russell had worked for over 25 years as a foreman for A.E. Burgess Leather Company before retiring in 1979.

In his younger years, Russell played the piano and was a lover of music. Throughout his long life, he enjoyed gardening and was a breeder of hunting dogs. He was also an avid sportsman and was a former member of the Shrewsbury Sportsman Club.

Russell was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn S. (Shortsleeves) Pratt, who died in 1998. He leaves his son, Ronald W. Pratt and his wife Suzanne of Ashland, and two nephews, Gary B. Pratt and his wife Barbara of Falmouth and David J. Pratt and his wife Sandra of South Yarmouth. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Marson Eaton Pratt.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mr. Pratt’s family Wednesday, March 23, from 4-7 p.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 24, at 10 a.m., in Mountain View Cemetery (Section L) Shrewsbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
