Northborough – The holiday season in Northborough got off to an official start on Dec. 1 as local shoppers enjoyed the 13th Annual Holiday Trolley. Later that evening, the festivities continued with the Tree Lighting Ceremony on Blake Street presented by the Northborough Community Affairs Committee. The weather all day was perfect with clear skies and not a raindrop (or snowflake) in sight.

Originally established by local merchants, a group of Northborough residents have continued the tradition which featured two trolleys that began their continuous loops from 243 West Main St. One trolley focused on the east side of town while the other focused on the west side.

Andi Dannais, one of the event coordinators, said that it had been a full day of events that included raffles, prizes and many of the businesses offered discounts, holiday treats, etc. The Grand Prize this year was a new iPad.
