Shrewsbury – What is better than a dog? Reading to a dog!! Eight-year-old Cheyenne, a very sweet and friendly mixed breed (Australian Shepherd and Springer Spaniel,) visited the Shrewsbury Public Library, May 11 to prove that point. She patiently sat and listened as several kids, including her “brother,” Morgan,” read to her.
For the past five years, Cheyenne has been traveling to libraries with her owner, Julie Crawley, who volunteers with the Tufts Paws for People which is part of the national Pet Partners program. The program’s goal is to inspire confidence, in kids who are learning to read or already know how, in a non-judgmental way. For more information, visit https://hai.tufts.edu/paws.
