Christina M. FaesGrafton – Christina Marie Faes, 27, passed away suddenly Jan. 4, 2021.

She leaves her loving parents, Anne Marie (Donovan) and Cesar Faes; her brother, Cesar E. Faes V; her daughter, Ilyana Simkhovich; and maternal grandmother; Clara Faes. In addition, Christina is survived by many aunts. uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Anne Donovan; her paternal grandfather, Cesar E. Faes; and her uncle, Edward A. Faes, as well as her very special friends, Seshu Kandukuri and Jessica (Jess) Cosman.

Christina was born November 9, 1993 in Worcester and she grew up in Grafton. She graduated from Grafton High School and was taking college courses at Worcester State College. Christina had a huge heart and at a young age self-funded her church mission trip to Panama so she could get involved in something special; assisting indigenous Panamanians and their culture.

She studied Shitō-ryū karate for 9 years obtaining a 3rd degree, 1st class brown belt. A natural athlete, she also played on the Grafton High School Varsity field hockey team as a freshman. Christina possessed passions for swimming, music and languages.

She learned languages easily to include Latin, Russian and Spanish. It was not unusual for Christina to pick up a musical instrument and start to play with relative ease as well.

All are welcome to gather with Christina’s family Sunday, Jan. 10, from 3-6 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Funeral services and burial will be private.
