L. Michael VoutasWestborough – L. Michael “Micky” Voutas, 76, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Westborough, passed away Jan. 21, 2021 at the Avow Hospice in Naples, Fla. after a brief illness. He was the husband of Carol L. Renaud.

Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Anthony and Rita (Calnan) Voutas. He was raised and educated in Westborough and was a 1963 graduate of Westborough High School.

Mr. Voutas was a member of the Westborough Police Department from 1970 to 2001, retiring as Detective. While serving on the Westborough Police Department he was Union President and an Undercover Drug Enforcement Officer. Following retirement, he moved to Florida and worked as a security guard at the Hideaway Beach Club in Marco Island.

He was a former coach for the Westborough Red Devils and from 1989 to 2003 was the football coach for Assabet Valley Vocational High School. He enjoyed golfing with his wife, enjoyed all New England sports, reading mystery crime books and was dedicated to his wife Carol.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Lisa M. Hitchings and her husband Peter of Oxford, Scott A. Voutas and his wife Aggie of Georgia, and Michaela L. Voutas of Westborough; three step-children, Deborah Taylor and her husband Greg of Florida, Michael Renaud and his wife Crystal of Florida, and Michele Caissie and her husband David of Marlborough; one brother, Richard Voutas and his wife Eileen of Westborough; one sister, Valerie Brickey and spouse of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Samantha Voutas, Madison Voutas, and Kimberly Hitchings; and five step-grandchildren, Alicia, Brendan, Valerie, Marissa, and Kyle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Timothy M. Voutas.

His funeral service with Police Honors will be held Friday, Jan. 29, at 10:30 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will be private. Those wishing to attend the service must pre-register with the church at https://fumc-westborough.ticketleap.com/.

Calling hours at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Thursday, Jan. 28, from 4-7 p.m. Social distancing and facial masks required at the funeral home and at the church. There will be a limited number of visitors allowed in the funeral home at one time.
