SHREWSBURY – The Shrewsbury Post 397 Legion baseball team rumbled past Sturbridge, July 14 on its way to a 9-1 victory.

Shrewsbury started the game strong, scoring four times in the second inning. They kept the pressure on during their next at-bat, padding their lead in part thanks to a bases-clearing triple in the bottom of the third inning.

Shrewsbury’s lead had drawn to 7-0 by the time Sturbridge got its next chance to bat.

Shrewsbury kicked off their playoff schedule on July 19 after qualifying for a spot in the state bound Zone 4 tournament with another win on July 15.
