MARLBOROUGH – A Marlborough resident has been honored by the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association.

Cindy Dorsey, the president of Emmanuel Radio Network, received the Above and Beyond Award during the Broadcasters Association’s annual Sound Bites awards show last month.

Emcee Candy O’Terry said Dorsey fits the description of the award, saying she goes “beyond the call of duty in pursuit of exceptional radio or television.”

“Leaders lead; however, legendary leaders lead and succeed in the face of insurmountable tragedy,” O’Terry said. “They lead their team from the front. They carry the middle, and they push forward from the back in the toughest of circumstances to keep their broadcast signals on the air and their listeners in communication when a worldwide pandemic strikes.”

“Cindy Dorsey of Emmanuel Radio Network is that one special courageous leader,” O’Terry continued.

According to its website, Emmanuel Communications was formed in 2008 after a group of individuals were called to start a Catholic radio station in Worcester.
