WESTBOROUGH – Late March snow showers aside, spring is here.

As such, the Westborough Garden Club is currently accepting sponsors for flower boxes in the downtown area.

The boxes are part of the Westborough Economic Development Committee’s (EDC) Downtown Beautification Program. Partnering with the EDC, the Garden Club handles planning, planting, watering, and maintenance of 24 flower boxes in the downtown area surrounding the Westborough Rotary.

Businesses can sponsor a new box for $450 in their initial year. Sponsorships then cost $200 for each following year, paying for soil, fertilizer and plants.

Sponsors will be recognized on the EDC website. They’ll also receive a sponsor plaque on their box.

“Give your business extra exposure or personally honor someone while beautifying the heart of our community at the same time,” the Garden Club wrote in a recent press release. “[The] Garden Club will do the rest of the work!”

If funds raised in any year exceed the cost of the program, they may be used for other beautification efforts in the downtown area.

Those interested should contact Maureen Johnson from the Westborough Garden Club at [email protected] for more information.
