REGION – Welcome to the first weekend of summer. Here are some local events:
Big Truck Day
June 24, 10 a.m. to noon, Millbury Street Elementary Sfool, 105 Millbury St., Grafton. A variety of big rigs will be on display. The first 300 children will receive a free hat.
Scandinavian Midsummer Festival
June 24, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., SAC Park, 438 Lake St., Shrewsbury. Admission $5; children 12 years and younger free. Ring dances, historic Viking encampment, food, music and more. Information: https://sacmidsummer.com/
Car Washes for Stepping Up
June 24, July 12 and July 20, noon to 5:30 p.m., Navin Rink, Marlborough. Get your car cleaned for a $10 donation, or a new pair of sneakers, to benefit Stepping Up, which is collecting new sneakers; the donations will be given to the Marlborough Food Cupboard for distribution.
Arts Around the Armory
June 25, 2 to 5 p.m., Hudson Armory, Park Street, Hudson. Featuring Mixed MetaFour, REHarmonix, and Jeff and Zack. Rain or shine; bring a chair or blanket. Information: https://www.hudsonarmoryproject.org/events/arts-around-the-armory
Lavender Farm Fest
June 23-25; June 30 to July 2. The Farm at SummitWynds, Holden. General admission $20 or $15.95 if purchased before Thursday of each weekend. Children under 2 get in free. Information: http://lavenderfarmfest.com/.
