Adrienne T. KingHudson – After a life well lived, Adrienne Teresa King passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Adrienne is leaving behind a legacy that impacted the lives of many. She made life seem so effortless, evidenced by her constant smile, kind words, and dry wit.

Adrienne was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 1, 1934 to Elizabeth and Gustave Rasmussen. Her family moved from Brooklyn to Queens when she was 9 years old.

Adrienne was accepted to Queens College, City Of New York, after passing strict GPA requirements. She graduated with a BA in Industrial Psychology.

She met the love of her life, Jerry King, at Queens. They married 4 days after graduation. They had six children, Gerard II, Christopher, Lisa, Steven, David, and Julie.

Her husband became an Air Force Pilot and served for twenty years. Their life together was a continuous adventure. Travel was a passion for them. New homes and new schools were part of their children’s lives.

After his retirement from the Air Force, they settled in Burlington Massachusetts where Adrienne worked in the Burlington School Department for children with Special Needs. Her husband was a project manager for Dynamic Research Corporation. They enjoyed skiing, playing golf, tennis and hosting many parties for family and friends. Large family gatherings were always a joyous occasion.

Adrienne and her husband retired again and moved to a wonderful community in Hudson Ma. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her book club, organized social gatherings, participated in political discussions and volunteered for any activity that needed a helping hand.

Adrienne is survived by her extended family of 48. They are her husband, Gerard (Jerry), six children and their spouses, Jerry King and Grace DeGennaro King, Chris and Patricia (Crans) King, Lisa and James Duffy, Steven and Joanne (Hulbert) King, David King and Daron Scarborough, and Julie and Reginald Lamere. There are thirteen grandchildren, Robert and Sarah (Cantin) King, Dylan and Gleici (Cardoza) King, Christopher and Theresa (Deorio) King, Kyle and Melissa (King) Smith, Chad Thompson and Rachel Duffy, Alex and Casey (Duffy) Thompson, Patrick Duffy and his fiancée Cara DiPerna, Jared King, Gavin King, A.J. and Johanna (King) Chua, Isaac Lamere, Adele Lamere, and Elsa Lamere.  The eight great grandchildren are Connor King, Liv King, James Smith, Isaac Smith, June Prato, Amelia Thompson, Zoey Thompson and Harbor Chua. Additionally, there are step-grandchildren, Andreas and Emma (Crans) Pleitz and Zachry Crans and three step great grandchildren, Ferdinand Pleitz, Beno Pleitz and Heidi Pleitz.

Adrienne was known and loved as Mom or Nana by all. She will forever live on in the memories and hearts of her family and her friends.

Visiting hours for Adrienne will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 9:00-11:00am at the Slattery Funeral Home Inc., 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough, MA 01752. A celebration of life will be held at the funeral home at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, 54 Bedford Street, Burlington, MA 01803.

Donations in memory of Adrienne may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
