Ann K. CoffouMarlborough – Ann K. Coffou, Age 67, died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Marlborough, MA on June 28, 2023. She had battled cancer intermittently since 2005.

Ann grew up in Onalaska, WI.  After earning her bachelor’s degree from Winona State University, Ann embarked on a multi-faceted professional career that began with IBM in Green Bay, WI.  Subsequent opportunities took her to Chicago, Madison WI, and finally Boston, MA.

Ann was a social butterfly and loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends.  After the passing of her husband in 2008, she joined the Tuesday Night Ladies League at Marlborough Country Club where she quickly became an avid golfer; eventually becoming President of the Women’s Golf Association and running the yearly charity tournament for breast cancer research.  Ann also loved to fish and if wasn’t on the golf course was in Onset, MA casting a line!

Ann remained close with a large group of friends from high school where the ladies would annually get together and held weekly zooms during Covid.  Ann also loved horse racing.  She had a close group of friends who got together every August in Saratoga Springs, NY for the annual racing season. These were also the same weekends her daughter become known for having parties, and her favorite Mapplethorpe print became a casualty.

Ann’s resolve in her fight against metastatic breast cancer, as well as thyroid cancer, speaks volumes about her. She fought with grace and a lot of sass! When her daughter, Marty, asked the hospice nurse when Ann might pass, her nurse replied “I can’t call this one, she’s very determined and stubborn.”

Ann was an enthusiastic supporter of Experience Camps, a national organization that provides free one-week long camps for kids who have lost a parent, sibling, or main caregiver. Friends are encouraged to make a donation in her name at www.experiencecamps.org.

Ann is survived by her daughter Marty, son Charlie, daughter-in-law Maggie, sister Kris and father Tom. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack and her mother Melba.

A memorial service will be held in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 West Main St. Marlborough, MA on Saturday September 9th, with visiting hours from 12 Noon to 1 PM, followed by a memorial service at 1 PM, and a luncheon at the Marlborough Country Club immediately after.
