Hector J. CormierMarlborough – Hector J. Cormier, 84, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Marlborough Hospital. He is the beloved husband of 59 years to Carole A. (Grace) Cormier.

Born and raised in Fitchburg, he was the son of the late Hector Sr. and Fernande (LeBlanc) Cormier. He was educated at Saint Bernard High School, Fitchburg MA.

Prior to retirement Hector was self-employed in route sales for many years and fostered many friendships along the way.

Hector was an avid golfer and a member of the Marlborough Country Club for many years. He also enjoyed following Professional Golf and all of the New England sports teams.

Upon his retirement in Sarasota Florida, he enjoyed spending time with His wife and family, along with many newly acquired friends. He enjoyed going for coffee and chatting with the guys, bowling, playing in bocce ball and shuffleboard leagues, along with many other group activities. He loved to ride his bike around the retirement park, stopping often to chat with friends along the way.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Linda Eldridge and her husband Wesley, of Spencer, Steven Cormier of Worcester, Lisa Martin and her husband Donald, of Mendon, Suzanne Reiffarth, of Millville, and Robert Cormier and his wife Shelley of Marlborough; his sisters, Joanne Morin of Arizona and Claire Boudreau of Fitchburg. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by three children, Michael, David, and Bonnie Cormier and his brother, Ronald Cormier.

His funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, July 7, in the St. Matthews Church, 26 Highland Street in Southborough. Burial will follow at the Southborough Rural Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 6, in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 West Main St. Marlborough.
