Hudson – Carl F. Szabo, 73, of Hudson, MA, died Wednesday July 19, 2023 at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, MA.
Carl was born in Waltham, MA, son of the late Paul Szabo Sr. and Dorothy (Rogers) Szabo. He was raised in Bedford, MA attending local schools and was a 1968 graduate of Bedford High School. A Vietnam Veteran, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1972 when he was honorably discharged.
Upon returning home he attended Middlesex Community College receiving a Associate’s Degree in Business. He worked for CSA Press for many years at their Bedford and later Hudson locations as a printer. Carl and his wife Jennifer also resided in Clinton and Marlborough before settling in Hudson.
Carl is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jennifer (Devereaux) Szabo; his sister Ann Conner of Florida; his brother Robert Allen and his wife Lynda of Westford, MA and sister Cathy Mahoney of Bradford. He also leaves his many nieces and nephews, other relatives, in-laws and friends. He was predeceased by his siblings, Theresa Goodwin, Claire Quinn, Dottie Byers, Paul Szabo Jr., Rita Harmon, and Margie Murphy.
Carl was a fan of all the New England sports teams. He always looked forward to relaxing at the beach in North Hampton, NH or a trip to Foxwoods with his wife. He will be remembered for his quick wit, mischievous spirit, impish smile and laid back personality by all who loved and knew him. Carl reserved his remarkable mind reading skills for his wife, they spent a lifetime on the same wavelength.
Calling hours for Carl will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA; with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 pm; followed-by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson, MA, for committal services.
