Grafton – Thomas D. Marando, 74, passed away July 19, 2023 following an illness. He is survived by his son Michael Marando, his daughter Mary Prince-Sico and her husband Frank, his grandson Damin Prince, his sister Ilene Marando and brother Arthur F. Marando.
Tom was born January 8, 1949 in Worcester, son of the late Louise (Rybak) and Arthur Marando. For most of his life he lived in South Grafton.
When Tom turned 16 he got behind the wheel and never left. He spent his life in the trucking business. He started by hauling milk in the family business for over twenty years. In 1986, he founded Water Transport Inc. He worked side by side with his son, Michael, teaching him everything he knew. In 2004, he retired from truck driving. Now, Michael keeps his business alive and well. For Tom every day was a work day, he lived life simply, always content with his close circle of friends and family nearby. He spent treasured time with his grandson, Damin, since retiring.
All are welcome to gather with his family and friends Monday July 24th from 10am-12pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by a prayer service at 12pm in the funeral home. He will then be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton.
