WESTBOROUGH – The Employee Excellence Award for September has been given to Khoula Rashid, circulation assistant at the Westborough Public Library.

According to information provided by the town, Rashid has been working at the library for about two-and-a-half years. She began as a page and was promoted to a part-time circulation assistant. About a year ago, Rashid moved to a position with benefits.

She is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Library & Information Studies at University of Rhode Island to earn her master’s degree to become a professional librarian.

“Khoula is the epitome of a team player – always willing to jump in wherever help is needed,” the town wrote. “She takes the initiative in getting projects started (and finished) and comes up with great ideas for displays, more effective workflow, and other ways to make the workday enjoyable. She is friendly and helpful to coworkers as well as patrons and is a wonderful representative of the library.”

Rashid also serves as a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
