‘I’m proud to say that I know and support [Perlman]’

Letter to the Editor logoCouncilor Samantha Perlman has the best and most versatile experience to serve as our next Mayor!

When I first moved to Marlborough 10 years ago, Arthur Vigeant was the mayor and doing a great job; so, when he decided that this was his last term as mayor, I knew I wanted to get involved.  I knew we needed someone with strong family values and with the strength and knowledge to fill his shoes.  I researched all 4 candidates and when I got to Samantha Perlman, I knew I had found my candidate.  The first time I met Samantha was at a city hall campaign gathering; there were several people standing with her trying to engage her in conversation, and yet she saw me and came right over and hugged me, like she knew me forever. That made me feel welcome right away.  I’ve also met her parents, and they are two of the kindest and most supportive people I’ve met; that comes shining through in Samantha also.  We are so lucky that she has decided to give back to our community and her hometown by running for mayor.  Her confidence and energy have rubbed off on everyone, and I am convinced she’ll be a great mayor.

As a veteran and a former owner of a tech company, I value her commitment, leadership, listening ability and open mind. I’m not the only one that has noticed these qualities; in addition to serving the last 4 years as councilor-at-large, Samantha is finishing a law degree while campaigning for mayor. She was also named on IGNITE National’s “30 Under 30 Womxn to Watch in Politics”, has the support of our Senator James Eldrige, and many local organizations.  She spent the summer of 2022 working with Boston Mayor Michelle Wu as a legal fellow to further her understanding of local government (talk about focused).

They don’t come any better or more down to earth than Samantha Perlman. I’m proud to say that I know and support her. Thank you, Sam, for running for Mayor and giving back to Marlborough.
