Richard J. BrownMarlborough – Richard J. Brown, 79, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. He leaves his beloved wife of 40 years, Judith L. (Hammond) Brown.

Richard was born and raised in Billerica, MA, son of the late Warren and Elaine (Cram) Brown. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Billerica High School. Richard was a “jack of all trades” holding many occupations throughout the years including time as a real estate agent, inside sales at Bose and Gilway, and concierge at Cronin’s Landing. Richard connected easily with co-workers and customers alike and always enjoyed good-natured bantering with both.

Richard resided in Waltham, MA following his marriage to Judy and later residing in Framingham, MA and Marlborough, MA. He was a former member of Weston Methodist Church, and currently a member of Westborough Methodist Church.

Besides his wife Judy, Richard is survived by his two daughters, Heather Lussier and her husband David of Aberdeen, North Carolina, Kristen Hawkins and her husband Chad of Shrewsbury, MA. He also leaves his three grandchildren, Simon Lussier, Clara Lussier, Calvin Hawkins along with other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Wayne Brown.

Richard was most happy when he was with his family and friends. In particular, he loved entertaining them on his boat cruising along the Charles River. They all enjoyed his hospitality and his love of boating. He always enjoyed spending time outdoors and was especially proud of the gardens he and Judy created at the family home in Framingham. In more recent years, he also found joy in the Crane Meadow community in Marlborough, making more friends in their bocce league. Richard’s passing has left a hole in the hearts of those who knew and loved him but know he will live on in their memories.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 4:30 to 5:30 pm at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. A memorial service and celebration of Richard’s life will follow at 5:30 pm in the funeral home.
