WESTBOROUGH — Local community members Maureen and Ian Johnson will receive the Westborough Good Scout Award later this year.

This is the first time that a couple has received the Good Scout Award.

The Johnsons have long been involved in the Westborough Community, whether it’s working with Cub Scout Pack 100 or serving with the Westborough Education Foundation.

Ian serves as Vice President, Institutional Product Development at Pyramis Global Advisors, a unit of Fidelity Investments.

He was also elected to the Select Board in 2011 and has continued to serve since then. Before his election, Ian was a member of the Advisory Finance Committee and the Capital Expenditures Planning Committee.

According to his profile on the Westborough Economic Development Committee’s website, Ian is involved with Cub Scout Pack 100, the Westborough Good Scout Committee and the Westborough Youth Soccer Association.

Maureen was named a 2020 Commonwealth Heroine after being nominated by Rep. Hannah Kane (R-Shrewsbury).

She’s been involved in the Westborough Community as the president of the Westborough Education Foundation and the Westborough Public Library Foundation. She’s also served on the Westborough Cultural Council while helping with Arts In Common, the Annual Trivia Bee and the Turkey Trot.

The Johnsons will be honored during the Good Scout Award Dinner, which raises money to support scouting and recognizes people who personify the Scout Oath on Nov. 10.
