MARLBOROUGH – Almost a year after it shut down, the exterior of the former Wildwood restaurant at 189 Boston Post Road East still stands.
The interior is another matter.
Permits pulled after the site changed hands early last spring called for interior demolition. That has been accomplished, but little else seems to have been done.
According to the city’s building commissioner, Tin Htway, “The owners are actively working with a design team for a new restaurant. They are still deciding on design concepts. Concepts include a new building, but nothing has been submitted to this office as of this time.”
The well-known steakhouse closed in February 2023 after 99 years in business when the owner decided to retire.
At the time of the closure, the plans called for a Brazilian restaurant and bakery.
The current owner of the site is Delca Real Estate Holding LLC out of Framingham.
