Shrewsbury – Leonora A. “Lee” (Lapomardo) Ryan, 73, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024, with her daughters by her side.

Lee is survived by her loving husband of fifty-two years, Robert M. Ryan; two devoted daughters, Jennifer Daniels and her husband Adam, and Jessica L. Ryan, all of Charlton; five grandchildren, Christopher, Logan, Kaylana, Troy, and Dominic; three brothers, Michael Lapomardo, Jr. and his wife, Patricia of Shrewsbury, Mark A. Lapomardo and his long-time companion Wendy Farrell of Worcester, and James Lapomardo of Shrewsbury; a sister, Clara M. Sheehan and her husband Michael of Shrewsbury; two former sisters-in-law, Nancy and Elaine Lapomardo; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Sadly, she was predeceased by two children, Christopher and Rebecca Ryan.

Lee was born in Worcester, daughter of Michael G. and Leona A. (Terlizzi) Lapomardo and lived in Shrewsbury most of her life.

Lee graduated from Venerini Academy in 1968, she earned an associate’s degree from Bryant College, a bachelor degree from Assumption College; ultimately achieving a master’s degree from Anna Maria College.  Lee worked for many years at UMass Memorial as a Medical Administrator.  She was incredibly smart and shared her knowledge by teaching continuing education courses for Assabet High School and Becker College.

Lee was a parishioner of Saint Mary’s Church in Shrewsbury and a member of the Shrewsbury Council of Disabilities. She enjoyed baking for family and friends and was proud to have won the Betty Crocker award in high school.  She was a strong woman who faced challenges “head on”. She enjoyed spending time and making memories at the family vacation home in Green Harbor. Lee loved her family deeply.

Calling Hours will be on Wednesday, February 21, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be on Thursday, February 22, departing the funeral home at 9:35 a.m. in procession to a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
