Westborough – Ruth E. Bean, 94, of Westborough, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Coleman House in Northborough. She was the wife of the late Donald K. Bean, Jr.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Harriett (Harrington) Aldrich. She was raised and educated in Westborough and has been a lifelong resident.

She was employed as a waitress at Monticello’s Restaurant in Framingham and Thompson Steakhouse in Westborough many years ago and in later years was a sales associate in the retail clothing industry.

She was a member of The Congregational Church of Westborough and enjoyed knitting.

Ruth is survived by four children, Cynthia D. Drisko and her husband, John, of Westborough, Donald K. Bean, III, and his wife, Cheryl, of Westborough, Ruth L. Spaulding and her husband, Mark, of Millbury and Robert W. Bean of Everett: one brother, Robert Aldrich of Westborough, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by her first husband, Roland O’Brien, a son, Roland O’Brien, Jr., grandsons Shaun Spaulding and Michael Bean and her siblings, Nancy Whelan, Virginia Corliss, Kenneth Aldrich, Donald Aldrich, Walter Aldrich, and Barbara Calcagno.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 24, at 10:00 A.M. in The Congregational Church of Westborough, 57 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Friday, February 23, from 4 to 7 P.M.
