Alexander P. TaurasWorcester – Alexander Patrick Tauras passed away peacefully after facing a challenging illness with unwavering strength and courage. He was 71.

Born and raised in Worcester within a large Lithuanian family, Patrick, as he was affectionately known, attended St. Stephen’s School and Worcester Vocational School where he pursued his electrician’s license. Guided by his strong work ethic, Patrick evolved into a highly respected master electrician with an exceptional talent for fixing almost anything. During his tenure at Primary Colors, he not only excelled in his professional role but also cherished the camaraderie of his colleagues, considering them friends.

At a young age, Patrick married and started a family. Wanting to provide a special place for his daughters to grow up, he bought four acres of land in Grafton, and with the help of his two brothers, built a wonderful family home. He was 23 when he completed the house. He added to its beauty by planting hundreds of trees in the yard that continue to grow there today.

Patrick shared his life with his six daughters: Nina Miller, Ami Mahassel, Alissa Eaton, Heather Tauras, Erica Tauras, and Alexandra Tauras, along with their mother, Nancy Tauras. He is also survived by his siblings James Tauras, Thomas Tauras, Susan Capalbo, Theresa Goulet, Marie Gagnon, and Joseph Tauras. Patrick was predeceased by his parents, Majella and Alexander Tauras, his sister Nina Tauras, and his brothers John Tauras and Daniel Tauras. Patrick also leaves eight grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, his companion Kathy Placek, and many close friends. Patrick had a unique way of showing his love – if he cared about you, he took great care of you, and those fortunate enough to be part of his circle knew this was truly a gift.

Patrick will be remembered for his fun-loving sense of humor, storytelling ability, and mighty, mighty laugh. He loved to bestow nicknames on loved ones, and you knew you were in the inner circle if you were lucky enough to get one. Patrick appreciated the simple things in life such as morning coffee while scouring the Want Advertiser, Coney Island hotdogs, a cold Molson Golden, Patriots games, WXTK talk radio, Jaws and Rocky on repeat, and the clearance sections at Lowes and Walmart.

Patrick loved spending time by the Cape Cod Canal, where he enjoyed biking, fishing, and watching the steady stream of boats traveling under the Railroad Bridge. Over the years, he hosted many people in his home in Bourne and generously shared his affection for this special place.
