Pamela A. MagraneOct. 5, 1943 – March 29, 2024

Lynn – Pamela Ann (Lee) Magrane passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024 after a lengthy illness.

Born on October 5, 1943 in Fort Monroe, Virginia, Pam graduated from Westborough (MA) High School and Cardinal Cushing College in Brookline, MA before settling in Lynn with her husband of 55 years, Brian P. Magrane. True partners in life and business, Pam and Brian founded, and operated Magrane Travel in Lynn for nearly 40 years.

Pam’s life was dedicated to service, from her early years in the Young Democrats of Massachusetts (where she met Brian in 1967), and as a past President of the League of Women Voters of Lynn, a chapter which she was instrumental in the establishment of. For many years Pam was a Democratic Party delegate to the Massachusetts State Democratic Convention, and through her early League work she was invited to testify before the Massachusetts General Court on issues of civil rights and social justice. In an enduring and tireless commitment to the expansion of rights and opportunities for women and girls, Pam also had served on the Board of Directors for Camp Fire of the North Shore. She was a pillar in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lynn, and in 2015 was a select member of a delegation traveling to Philadelphia PA for Pope Francis’ visit to the United States.

Pammy was, most of all, fiercely loyal to her family. If you were lucky enough to be loved by her, you were always on her mind, and in her heart, and she would consume herself with your accomplishments, challenges, happiness, pain and joy. For each of us, she was our guardian and champion.

Pam is survived by her husband, Brian P Magrane of Lynn, and her four daughters, Erin E. Magrane and her partner David Calnan of Lynn, Cara L. Magrane of San Antonio, Texas, Kathleen F. Magrane and her partner Graham B. I. Scott of Westborough, MA and Megan Mulcahy and her husband Christopher Mulcahy of Scituate MA. She will be monumentally missed by all and especially by her grandchildren, David Magrane and his wife Aughtum, Liam and Sean Gonzalez, and Christopher, Quinn and Abigail Mulcahy. She was blessed to have had nearly two years with her two great-grandchildren Mason and Maeve Magrane. And not to be forgotten are all her nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

Pam is preceded in death by her parents Francis D. A. and Rita (Burke) Lee, her brother Vincent B. Lee, and son-in-law Jose F. Gonzalez.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 4:00- 7:00pm. Her Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Lynn will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 10:30am.

Those who wish, may make donations in memory of Pam to My Brother’s Table, 98 Willow Street, Lynn, MA 01901.
