Helen SakovichShrewsbury – Helen Sakovich, 72, of Shrewsbury and formerly of Worcester passed away on Friday March 29, 2024 in the comfort of her home.

Helen was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Jack and Eva (Osak) Sakovich. Helen is survived by two sisters, Ann Lilla of Worcester, Ma, and Sonia Sakovich of Virginia.

Helen was a Worcester School Crossing Guard at Elm Park Community School. She worked there 31 years before she retired in 2019. In 2018 she received the “Unsung Hero Award” from Gov. Baker. Helen also worked part time at the Pickle Barrel Restaurant, Worcester for many years.

She graduated from Quinsigamond CC with a certificate as a Radiology Technician.

She loved crossing the school children, and in fact, crossed many of the children, and some grandchildren of the children she knew in the first few years.

A Celebration of Life for Helen will be held at The Polish National Independent Club, 290 Milbury Street, Worcester Ma., on Thursday, April 18th, from 3 to 5:30 PM.
